Italian giants Juventus are reportedly considering a possible move to recruit Dutch striker of Nigerian descent Joshua Zirkzee to strengthen their squad.
The Bianconeri are continuing their behind-the-scenes work to stay prepared up front. Talks for Youssef En-Nesyri have slowed, prompting the Old Lady to revisit alternative targets with strong profiles.
One name back on the table is Zirkzee, the 2001-born forward currently on the books of Manchester United, whose situation has sparked renewed interest in Turin.
Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that Juventus have carried out initial checks in recent days to evaluate the conditions of a potential deal.
Although Zirkzee has found it difficult to secure regular minutes and consistent goals in the Premier League, he remains highly rated at Continassa, largely due to the impression he made during his earlier spell in Serie A.
The club views him as a modern centre forward, comfortable in build-up play and capable of bringing others into the game.
Any move, however, would hinge on a specific condition. Juventus are only prepared to proceed if the deal is structured as a loan, a formula that would give Zirkzee the chance to rediscover his form without placing financial strain on the club.
Much now depends on whether Manchester United are open to such an arrangement.
This season, Zirkzee has featured in 16 matches across all competitions, starting just four of them and scoring twice for Manchester United.
