Highly rated Moroccan teenage forward Ziyad Baha has taken a major step in his budding career after completing a move to French giants Olympique de Marseille.
The 16-year-old has left Spanish outfit Calavera to join one of France’s most storied clubs, confirming the transfer through a post on his Instagram page.
Baha revealed that he had already been embedded within Marseille’s youth system for the past month, using the period to assess his future before making a final decision. Despite attracting interest and having the option to remain in Spain with Real Betis, the young attacker ultimately opted for a new challenge in France.
Announcing the move, he shared, “A new chapter begins with Olympique de Marseille. I have already been training and progressing in Marseille for a month. After reflection, I have chosen a different path, despite the opportunities to continue at Real Betis, because I wanted to take a step that corresponds to my ambitions and my development as a footballer.”

The teenage prospect described the switch as an opportunity to test himself in a more demanding environment while continuing his growth as a player. He stressed his determination to improve daily and embrace the challenges ahead.
“This new chapter is an opportunity to push myself every day, to continue to learn and to take on new challenges at the highest level. I approach this stage with ambition and determination and with one idea in mind: only forward,” he added.
Baha first rose to prominence on the international stage with a string of eye-catching performances for Morocco’s U17 national team. He was a key figure in their triumphant U17 Africa Cup of Nations campaign and went on to impress at the U17 World Cup, where his goals helped Morocco reach the quarter-finals.
Now at Marseille, Baha is set to continue his development within the club’s youth ranks, with a long-term focus on earning a place in the senior team as he progresses through the system.
