A source from the Egyptian national team has disclosed the truth about Mustafa Mohamed, the team’s striker, receiving a yellow card during the clash with Cape Verde.
Mustafa Mohamed took off his shirt while celebrating his second goal against Cape Verde, but the match footage did not capture the referee brandishing a yellow card.
A source from the Egyptian national team stated, “CAF has not officially notified us yet regarding Mustafa Mohamed’s yellow card after he removed his shirt while celebrating his goal against Cape Verde.”
The source added, “There is no need to worry because yellow cards are typically issued starting from the knockout stage.”
The Pharaohs secured their place in the Round of 16 by finishing as the second team in Group C, which includes Morocco, Zambia, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Egypt drew 2-2 with Cape Verde in the third round of the African Cup of Nations group stage.
