Zamalek’s board is facing one of the toughest financial crises in the club’s modern history, with international claims now reaching 2.5 million dollars that must be secured to close 10 active cases at FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
These payments are essential to lift the transfer ban and allow the club to rebuild its squad, while anxious fans wait to see how the management will break this legal and financial siege.
The cases cover unpaid dues to former players, past coaching staffs, and delayed instalments owed to foreign clubs.
Tunisian star Ferjani Sassi tops the list with 550,000 dollars outstanding, followed by former coach Jose Gomes, who is owed 120,000 dollars, while his assistants Andre Beek, Luis Vicente, and Joao Miguel are collectively due 60,000 dollars, and Swiss coach Christian Gross is still owed 145,000 dollars.
The most painful case concerns Ukrainian club Oleksandriya, demanding 800,000 dollars from the transfer of Juan Bezerra, alongside 250,000 dollars for Morocco’s Renaissance Zemamra (Salah Mossadek), 200,000 euros for Portugal’s Estrela (Chico Banza), and 170,000 euros for Belgian side Charleroi (Palestinian forward Oday Dabbagh).
Zamalek’s management is now racing to find urgent funding or reschedule these debts, as continued registration bans could escalate into points deductions or even a complete sporting freeze if a comprehensive settlement is not reached soon.
