Grant Kekana, a player for the South African national team, expressed that his team is determined not to bid farewell to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations early, affirming their commitment to giving their best to secure a victory against Tunisia.

South Africa is set to face Tunisia on Wednesday at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in the third round of the group stage, competing in Group F.

Mali currently leads the group with four points, followed by South Africa with three points and Namibia with the same points but a goal difference.

Tunisia sits at the bottom with one point.

Speaking at a press conference held on Tuesday, Kekana stated, “Everyone is confident and looking forward to tomorrow’s match.”

“We don’t want to return home early; we will give our best to achieve a positive result,” he added.

“We are fortunate to be with Mamelodi Sundowns, where we have experienced various trials in Africa, and this plays a significant role for us in the Africa Cup of Nations,” he continued.

Kekana concluded, “The tournament’s level is very high, and all teams aim to win.

We are grateful for playing in the CAF Champions League, which has helped us in this competition.”
