Dutch coach Jo Bonfrere, former manager of Nigeria and Al Ahly, believes that Mahmoud Trezeguet is the best choice to lead Egypt’s attack in the absence of Salah.
In statements made on the Korah Kol Yawm program on Al Hayat channel, Bonfrere expressed, “The Egyptian national team was fortunate with Ghana’s draw against Mozambique.”
He added, “The Egyptian national team does not perform well due to the difference in playing styles between the Egyptian league and the way Roy Vitoria plays in the national team.”
Bonfrere continued, “It is necessary to increase playing with two strikers to strengthen the Egyptian team.”
Regarding Salah’s absence due to injury, he commented, “Salah is a pivotal player, and his absence is certainly impactful, but Trezeguet is the best player to compensate for his absence and lead Egypt’s attack; he is a great player.”
