The correspondent for Al-Ahly Club has revealed a surprising decision by the Swiss coach Marcel Koller regarding Wessam Abou Ali following the friendly match against Al-Akhdoud, which ended with the Red Castle’s defeat by two goals to one.
In his post-match remarks to the channel, Al-Ahly’s correspondent stated, “Marcel Koller sees that Wessam Abou Ali is crucial in the upcoming period due to his proficiency in set-pieces, artistic and collective play.
He will be among the players who may take penalty kicks in the coming period alongside Ali Maaloul, Rami Rabia, Hussein El-Shahat, and other players.”
Al-Ahly Lost to Al-Akhdoud by Two Goals
Al-Ahly suffered a defeat against Al-Akhdoud of Saudi Arabia by two goals to one in the match held yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the Ittihad Kalba Stadium in Ajman, United Arab Emirates.
The goals for Al-Akhdoud were scored by the Romanian player Tanase in the 21st and 50th minutes.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahly’s goal was scored by Mohamed El-Dawi Cristo from a good pass by the Palestinian Wessam Abou Ali.
Rami Rabia missed a penalty kick for Al-Ahly in the 71st minute.
