Richardson remains under contract with Fiorentina until the summer of 2029 and has already gained international experience with the Moroccan national team.
Speaking after completing the switch, the midfielder expressed his excitement about joining the Danish champions and embracing a new challenge.
“It’s good for me to join Copenhagen,” Richardson told the club’s official website. He highlighted the stature of his new side, adding, “Copenhagen is a big club that competes for titles and delivers outstanding performances on the European stage.”
The Moroccan star revealed that the transfer had been some time in the making.
“I know there was a previous desire to bring me to the club, and it’s great that they have now succeeded in doing so.” He also spoke positively about discussions with the club hierarchy, saying, “I had excellent talks with the Copenhagen management, and I feel reassured and optimistic, and I am very much looking forward to getting started,” he noted.
Reflecting on his recent spell with limited game time, Richardson made clear his determination to make an impact in Denmark.
“I haven’t played much in recent months, and I’m excited to contribute and make a difference for my team. I will do everything I can to fit in with Copenhagen,” he stressed.
Amir Richardson will wear the number 25 shirt during his time with FC Copenhagen.
