Ceramica Cleopatra FC has formally requested that Al Ahly terminate the loan deal for defender Ahmed Ramadan Beckham.
The Cairo-based side, who initially secured Beckham on a season-long loan from Al Ahly, are now seeking to end the arrangement early as they look to bolster their squad.
Al Ahly has passed the request to Danish coach Jess Torup, asking him to evaluate the possibility of releasing either Beckham or teammate Ahmed Abdeen before the end of January.
Sources indicate that Ceramica Cleopatra’s request is unrelated to Al Ahly’s pursuit of striker Marwan Osman, who is also being discussed for a loan move.
With a clear focus on strengthening their defence, Ceramica Cleopatra have identified Beckham and Abdeen as key targets in their current recruitment drive.
Beckham joined Al Ahly during the last summer transfer window on a one-season loan from Ceramica, with the agreement originally set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
