Morocco’s national team will receive 4 million dollars in prize money after finishing runners-up at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, underlining how far CAF bonuses have grown in recent years.
Despite losing the final 1–0 to Senegal in Rabat on Sunday 18 January, the Atlas Lions’ campaign secures around 3.4 million euros for the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
Senegal, crowned African champions for the second time, collect a 10 million dollar payout, or roughly 8.5 million euros, a significant jump from the 7 million dollars awarded to Ivory Coast when they hosted and won the previous edition in 2024. CAF had already announced a record overall prize pot of 32 million dollars for the Moroccan tournament, and the final distribution confirms that uplift.
The two other semi-finalists, Nigeria and Egypt, each receive 2.5 million dollars for reaching the last four. All of these amounts are paid directly to the national federations, which then have full freedom to decide how to share the money between players, coaching staff and wider technical teams.
For Morocco, this AFCON bonus comes in addition to separate rewards and special incentives that the FRMF and state authorities have put in place in recent years to support the Atlas Lions’ rise on the continental and global stage.
