FIFA President Gianni Infantino has congratulated Senegal and Morocco for reaching the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Atlas Lions triumphed over Nigeria on penalties after a pulsating goalless draw in both regular and extra-time, while Senegal narrowly defeated Egypt in a high-stake semi-final on Wednesday.
In highly competitive final on Sunday, the Taranga Lions will battle it out for the covetous trophy with hosts, Morocco at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with victory crucial to securing the title.
However, the leader of the world football governing body has heaped praise on both Senegal and Morocco for reaching the final of the tournament.
“Congratulations to Morocco and Senegal on qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations final. Good luck to these two great footballing nations, and I eagerly await their epic encounter to determine the African champions.” He wrote on social media.
Morocco and Senegal have won the continental showpiece just once in their football history and will be seeking for their second triumph in the high-stake final.
