Hakimi and Mbaye will rival themselves for the covetous trophy at the continental showpiece to be held at the Prince Moulay Stadium on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

The duo are expected to play a huge in their quest to secure the Africa Cup of Nations title in the North African country.

Hakimi missed the first two games for Morocco and has since featured in the remaining games for the Atlas Lions, who defeated Nigeria 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final.

Mbaye on the other side has been instrumental for Senegal at the tournament and is expected to play a huge role in the title bid.

However, Luis Enrique has eulogized the duo for their performance at the tournament, while tipping the best team to win the trophy.

“I’m really proud because it’s fantastic to see two players in the final, considering all the effort they’ve put in over the past few months. It’s a positive thing for Paris Saint-Germain.” He said at a pre-match conference.

Morocco and Senegal have won the continental showpiece just once in their football history and will be seeking for their second triumph in the high-stake final.
