The Egyptian national team held a recovery training session on Thursday as preparations began for their third-place playoff encounter against Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Egypt will face the Super Eagles in the third and fourth place match of the tournament, which is currently being hosted in Morocco. The Pharaohs missed out on a place in the final after suffering a narrow one-goal defeat to Senegal in Wednesday evening’s semi-final.
As part of their build-up to the decisive encounter, the players focused on physical and recovery exercises during Thursday’s training session, aimed at restoring fitness following the demanding semi-final contest.
The Pharaohs will have a full training session on Friday to finalise preparations and the game plan for the battle for Bronze during the weekend.
Egypt are scheduled to take on Nigeria on Saturday, January 17, with kick-off set for 6:00 pm Cairo time, 7:00 pm Saudi time and 5:00 pm Morocco time.
