Real Madrid have praised Brahim Díaz following his outstanding performances for Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as the forward continues to shine on the continental stage and lead his country deep into the tournament.
The Spanish giants highlighted Díaz’s decisive role after Morocco secured a 2–0 victory over Cameroon to book a place in the semi-finals.
In an official report published on the club’s platforms, Real Madrid underlined the remarkable consistency of the Moroccan international, noting that he has scored in every match he has played at the tournament so far.
With five goals from five appearances, Díaz currently sits at the top of the AFCON scoring chart, reinforcing his growing status as one of the competition’s standout performers.
Madrid’s report placed particular emphasis on Díaz’s influence in the quarter-final against Cameroon, where he played the full 90 minutes and opened the scoring in the 26th minute.
His early goal set the tone for Morocco’s controlled display, before Ismael Saibari added a second after the break to seal a comfortable win for the hosts.
The club also revisited Díaz’s earlier contributions in the knockout phase, recalling his match-winning goal in the round of 16 against Tanzania. That strike, scored in the 66th minute, secured a narrow 1–0 victory and underlined his ability to deliver in decisive moments.
Beyond the knockout rounds, Real Madrid highlighted Díaz’s impact during the group stage, where he played a central role in Morocco finishing top of Group A. He scored in the opening 2–0 win over Comoros, converted a penalty in the 1–1 draw with Mali, and added another goal in the emphatic 3–0 victory against Zambia.
The Spanish club also looked ahead to Morocco’s next challenge, noting that the Atlas Lions will face Nigeria in the semi-finals on January 14, with the final scheduled for January 18.
Real Madrid concluded their assessment by describing Díaz as being in one of the best spells of his career, praising his maturity, consistency and growing leadership.
The club stressed that his performances in Morocco have confirmed his status as a key figure for both club and country, and one of the defining players of the tournament.
