The coaching staff of Zamalek’s first football team, led by Mu’tamed Gamal, dedicated a specialized training session to penalty shootouts at the conclusion of Thursday evening’s practice at Al-Shahama Stadium.
The rigorous training comes in preparation for the upcoming Unity Friendly Tournament in Abu Dhabi.
Zamalek is gearing up to face the Emirati club Al-Wahda on the upcoming Saturday in the opening match of the Unity Friendly Tournament.
The team arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier today to commence a training camp in the United Arab Emirates, featuring participation in two friendly tournaments.
Ahmed Khaled Hassanin, a board member, assumes the role of leading the team’s delegation in the Emirates.
The squad enlisted for the tournaments includes:
Goalkeepers: Mohamed Awad, Moaz Alaa El-Din, Abdel Rahman Nefad.
Defenders: Mohamed Abdel Shafi, Hatem Sakr, Ahmed Zaki, Mahmoud Hamdi “El Wensh,” Mostafa El Zanati, Mahmoud Alaa, Hamza Al-Mathlouthi, Omar Gaber.
Midfielders: Amr El-Sisi, Mohamed Ashraf “Roqa,” Nabil Emad “Donga,” Sayed Abdullah “Neymar,” Mostafa Shelbi, Youssef Ibrahim “Obama,” Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” Mohamed Hossam “Beso,” Mohamed El-Sayed, Ibrahima N’Diaye.
Forwards: Samsoun Akinyoola, Nasser Mansi, Amr Yasser.
The Zamalek team is set to participate in the Unity Friendly Tournament in Abu Dhabi scheduled from January 18 to 24, alongside UAE’s Al-Wahda, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad, and Qatar’s Umm Salal.
Subsequently, Zamalek will engage in the Dubai Challenge Cup from January 26 to 28, competing against Raja Casablanca from Morocco, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, and Wuhan Three Towns from China.
All matches will take place at the Al Maktoum Stadium. The strategic focus on penalty shootouts demonstrates Zamalek’s commitment to honing every aspect of their game, underlining the team’s dedication to excellence in these upcoming international friendlies.
