It appears that there is uncertainty and potential tension between Samuel Eto’o and Anzhi Makachkala due to a disagreement over the player’s salary. Eto’o joined Anzhi Makachkala in 2011 from Inter Milan, and at that time, the Russian club offered him a lucrative contract that made him the highest-paid player in the world, earning 20 million euros per year.
However, Anzhi is reportedly seeking to reduce Eto’o’s salary significantly. According to the Russian daily Izvestia, the club wishes to keep the Cameroonian striker but on the condition that he agrees to extend his contract while accepting a substantial salary reduction, down to 7 million euros per year. This proposed reduction is three times less than what Eto’o is currently earning.
The situation suggests a potential disagreement between the player and the club, as accepting such a drastic pay cut may not align with Eto’o.
