The match between Cameroon and Gabon, originally scheduled for this Saturday as part of the African Nations Championship qualifiers, has been postponed due to the provisional suspension of the Cameroonian Football Federation by FIFA. The Gabon A’ Panthers did not travel to Yaoundé, and the Cameroonian players were released after two weeks of training. The hope was that FIFA might lift the suspension at the last minute, but when that didn’t happen, the match was rescheduled. The two sports ministries agreed to reschedule the match if FIFA lifts its suspension on Cameroon. The players were instructed to stay focused, as there was a possibility of rescheduling the match in a week.
