Burkina Faso defender Youssifou Dayo says his outfit will do everything possible to secure the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, as the team gears up for the round 16 clash against Ivory Coast.
The Stallions qualified for the round of 16 of the continental showpiece after defeating Sudan and finishing second behind Algeria in Group E.
Burkina Faso will lock horns with Ivory Coast in all West African affair on Tuesday in the last 16 of the tournament, being held in Morocco.
“We are very happy,” Dayo said. “The group stage is over, and now we move on to the decisive stages, the first of which is the round of 16.”
“As you know very well, these are very tough and difficult matches, and every team has a greater ambition to reach the quarter-finals.”
“We have a clear goal in mind, which is to do everything we can, like the other teams, to win the title.”
“That’s our ambition too. The group stage is over, and now we’ll start the real competition.”
The winner of the Burkina Faso’s clash against Ivory Coast match will face the winner of the Egypt and Benin match in the quarter-finals.
