Jalal Al-Qadri, the head coach of the Tunisian national team, has shouldered full responsibility for the unexpected loss against Namibia in the opening match of Group F at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Tunisia suffered a surprising defeat with a 1-0 scoreline against Namibia in the final minutes of the recent match.
Al-Qadri spoke candidly about the defeat in remarks reported by the Moroccan newspaper “Hesport,” stating, “I take full responsibility.
I thoroughly studied the opponent and warned the players about Namibia’s strengths, but unfortunately, they did not pay attention.”
He continued, “Abdul Rahman Al-Khneissi’s injury at the beginning of the match disrupted my plans significantly.
We quickly had to change our playing style, and squandering easy opportunities in front of the goal was a major factor.”
“We still have two matches, and we must showcase our true level to secure advancement.
Even Argentina lost their first match in the World Cup, and we will demonstrate a strong reaction in the upcoming games,” Al-Qadri emphasized.
The unexpected defeat against Namibia has added pressure to the Tunisian team’s journey in the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Al-Qadri’s willingness to take accountability and his strategic approach to the remaining matches instills confidence that Tunisia can rebound and exhibit their true potential on the tournament stage.
As the competition unfolds, fans eagerly await Tunisia’s response and their determination to secure a place in the knockout stages.
