Head coach of Egypt Hossam Hassan is looking forward to their final group match against Angola at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nation tournament, being held in Morocco.
The Pharaohs of Egypt will wrap up their Group B games on Monday, December 29, 2025 in a high-stake clash against the Palancas Negras at the Stade d’Agadir.
Egypt opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe before beating South Africa 1-0 on Friday, topping their group with six points and becoming the first team to secure a place in the knockout stage.
Despite securing a knockout stage spot, the former Ahly and Zamalek veteran striker insists his outfit will not take the match for granted as they eye a 100 percent run at the tournament.
“Monday’s game against Angola is special for us, as we are looking to gain the most benefit from it at the technical level,” the former Ahly and Zamalek veteran striker said at a pre-match press conference on Sunday.
“Angola is a respectable and strong team. We respect all opponents and will play only to win, as the game is also an opportunity to prepare for our next matches,” he added.
Having already booked qualification to the knockout phase, a win against Angola would complete a perfect group campaign as the seven-time champions continue their pursuit of another Africa Cup of Nations crown.
