Head coach of Morocco Walid Regragui has said that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be the most difficult tournament to win in history.
The 35th edition of the continental showpiece which commenced last Sunday run until January 18, 2026, with 24 countries battling it out for the covetous trophy in Morocco.
The Atlas Lions capped off an impressive start to the Africa Cup of Nations, inflicting a 2-0 victory over Comoros on Sunday.
“It is going to be the most difficult AFCON to win in history. Every team is ready. We are in the best possible conditions, and everyone wants to win it.
Whoever wins this one will deserve it even more than in previous years. The pitches are magnificent, the hotels are magnificent—everything is in place. We need to feel like we are at home, and the atmosphere in the stadium needs to be electric.” He said.
The Atlas Lions will take on Mali in their second Group A clash on Friday night, with both teams seeking for maximum points in the highly competitive clash.
With Morocco securing victory in their opening day victory, the Eagles of Mali settled for a 1-1 draw against Zambia.
