Elias Achouri stole the spotlight as he was named Man of the Match in Tunisia’s 3–1 victory over Uganda, capping a brilliant all‑round attacking display in Rabat.
The forward scored twice and was at the heart of everything positive for the Carthage Eagles in their opening AFCON 2025 Group C clash.
Tunisia started strongly, taking control early on and going ahead through Elyes Skhiri after a slick team move in the 10th minute. Achouri then doubled the lead five minutes before half-time, showing composure in the box to finish calmly and reward his team’s dominance. After the break, Tunisia stayed on the front foot, and Achouri effectively killed the contest in the 64th minute with a precise second goal, underlining why he deserved the individual award.
Uganda grabbed a consolation through Denis Omedi in stoppage time, but it did little to change the mood as Tunisia cruised over the line. With this statement performance from Achouri, Tunisia open their campaign with confidence and send a clear message that they intend to be serious contenders in Morocco.
