Ligue 1 Mobilis: Late Ben Hamouda double rescues CR Belouizdad after dramatic night

Ben Hamouda delivered a stunning late intervention to steer CR Belouizdad away from further trouble, scoring twice in the dying moments to secure a 3–2 victory over Olympique Akbou on a dramatic Matchday 13 in Algeria’s Ligue 1 Mobilis.

Still reeling from their recent derby defeat to MC Alger, CRB entered the fixture under pressure and were quickly tested.

Olympique Akbou struck first in the eighth minute, capitalising on a rapid counter-attack finished with composure by Zamoum to silence the visitors and set the tone for a high-tempo contest.

CR Belouizdad responded with intent and were rewarded midway through the first half.

After goalkeeper Bencheikh El Fegoun had produced an initial save, he was powerless moments later as Boussouar unleashed a fierce strike that flew into the top corner, restoring parity in the 26th minute.

equaliser shifted the momentum and lifted CRB, who began to impose themselves more clearly on the game.

Ben Hamouda appeared to have completed the turnaround shortly afterwards, finding the net only for the goal to be ruled out following a VAR review for offside. The decision proved a temporary setback rather than a turning point, as CRB continued to push with confidence and attacking purpose.

The second half saw CR Belouizdad dominate possession, combining technical quality with sustained pressure, yet without the decisive touch in front of goal.

Against the run of play, Akbou struck again in the 68th minute through another swift break, Gherbi breaking free from his former teammate Ouassa before finishing calmly to make it 2–1.

Akbou had opportunities to extend their lead, most notably when Gherbi failed to convert another counter-attack that could have settled the contest.

That miss would prove costly. As the match edged into its final moments, CRB’s persistence finally paid off.

In the 89th minute, Ben Hamouda rose highest to meet a Khacef cross, powering a header home to level the score.

With barely time for Akbou to regroup, the Tunisian forward struck again.

This time it was Benayada’s delivery that found Ben Hamouda, who completed a remarkable turnaround in the first minute of added time, sealing a 3–2 victory that dramatically altered the mood around the club.

Elsewhere on Saturday evening, JS Saoura endured a tense finish before edging past ES Mostaganem by the same scoreline in the closing fixture of the round.

Playing at home, the Béchar-based side raced into a commanding 3–0 lead through Bentaleb, an own goal from Bouallag, and Boutiche from the penalty spot just before half-time.

However, a late lapse in concentration allowed ES Mostaganem back into the contest, with goals from Motrani and Boulkaboul reducing the deficit and creating an anxious finale.

JS Saoura held on to claim all three points, a result that lifts them to fifth place on 19 points.

For ES Mostaganem, the defeat leaves them second from bottom with nine points, four adrift of ASO Chlef, while CR Belouizdad’s dramatic escape ensures they avoid slipping deeper into crisis, thanks largely to the decisive impact of Ben Hamouda.
