Ousmane Dembele still vital for PSG despite difficult spell
Ousmane Dembele is going through a dip in form at Paris Saint‑Germain, despite recently being crowned FIFA Best Men’s Player for 2025.
His start to the season has been disrupted by a series of physical issues and minor injuries that have prevented him from reaching peak rhythm.
Reports from L’Équipe say these ongoing problems have limited his explosiveness and sharpness, which has been visible in some of his recent performances and, notably, his missed penalty against Flamengo in the Intercontinental Cup shootout. Inside the PSG camp, however, Dembele is still seen as a key figure for the team’s attacking play and remains fully supported by his teammates.
The club believes that, as in early 2025, Dembele can rediscover his top level from January onwards once he is fully fit again. So far this season, he has registered 3 goals and 3 assists in 13 appearances for PSG in all competitions, numbers that underline both his struggles and his continued influence in creating chances.
Expectations in Paris remain high that a fully healthy Dembele will again become one of the side’s main game‑changers.
