Alexander Isak crowned Sweden’s best player
Alexander Isak has been named winner of the 2025 Guldbollen, the prestigious award given by the Swedish Football Association and Aftonbladet to the country’s best male player of the year.
The accolade crowns a superb spell for the forward, who has firmly established himself among Europe’s most exciting strikers.
During the award period, from November 2024 to November 2025, Isak delivered outstanding numbers, scoring 22 goals and providing 4 assists in 31 matches in all competitions. His haul included 19 goals in the Premier League, two in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup, underlining both consistency and big‑game impact.
Isak’s performances for Newcastle United were key to this recognition, as he showcased his pace, movement and clinical finishing in one of the toughest leagues in the world. On the back of that breakout season, he earned a major summer move to Liverpool ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, opening a new chapter in his career at Anfield.
He has scored one goal and assisted one in nine Premier League appearances this season.
