Fally Ipupa, the singer-guitarist, songwriter, and dancer, has inaugurated his foundation as a testament to his love for his country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). To mark this significant event, the Congolese artist hosted a lavish dinner on a Friday, sparing no expense.
The event was attended by a distinguished guest list, including football stars like Emmanuel Adebayor, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Andre Ayew, Djibril Cisse, Asamoah Gyan, Bafetimbi Gomis, Aziz Makukula, Shabani Nonda, Jires Kembo, Jose Bosingwa, Tresor Lualua, Gervinho, Samuel Eto’o, and Youssouf Mulumbu.
The festivities included a concert on Saturday, June 22, along with an autograph session featuring the football players during the day.
Fally Ipupa expressed his deep connection to his homeland, stating, “I did not choose to be Congolese, I was just lucky – love 243.” He shared insights into his foundation’s social initiatives, emphasizing their initial focus on Goma, a region heavily affected by war in the East.
