Radzinski backs Wilson as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah at Liverpool

Former Everton and Fulham forward Tomasz Radzinski believes Harry Wilson could be an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah if the Liverpool star leaves in January.

His view comes at a moment when the Egyptian’s future is under renewed scrutiny after he was left out of the squad for the 1-0 Champions League win at Inter Milan.

Salah stayed in Liverpool following his remarks that criticised manager Arne Slot and the club, claiming he had been thrown “under the bus”. His contract runs until 2027, but interest from Saudi clubs and his recent frustrations have revived speculation about an early departure.

Radzinski told ComeOn that Wilson, once on Liverpool’s books, has developed well at Fulham and could handle a return to Anfield.

He stressed that the dynamics inside the Liverpool dressing room are difficult to assess from afar, but insisted the club’s transfer work last summer was strong despite some arrivals struggling for form. He argued that adaptation issues are common when players join new leagues and systems.

He then floated Wilson as a credible option. Radzinski said, “It’s a very funny situation over at Liverpool, so it’s hard to judge from the outside. We don’t know what’s going on at the training ground. I think they have enough players. I think they’ve done, in my eyes, fantastic deals in the summer.

“I just don’t think the players who they brought are performing at the moment, but it probably has nothing to do with their personalities or whatever. It’s just sometimes when you come from a different competition, different teams, not every team suits every player. This is how it is.

“Harry Wilson to Liverpool, why not? If he can perform this well for Fulham. Before Mohamed Salah became one of the greatest players in the Premier League, he had to move to a few other clubs as well.”

Wilson scored in Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, taking his tally to four goals in 14 league matches. The midfielder has only six months left on his current contract, and there have been growing suggestions he could seek a new challenge amid uncertainty over his future at Craven Cottage.
