Despite security measures, violent clashes occurred in Fortaleza between police and demonstrators around the stadium scheduled to host the Brazil-Mexico match during the Confederations Cup. Approximately 15,000 demonstrators were kept away from the Castelao stadium. Two protesters were reported injured, with one hit by a rubber bullet under the eye.
