Uganda arrive in Morocco for 2025 AFCON tournament

The Cranes of Uganda have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco to begin their preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to take in the Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026, with 24 countries set to battle it out for the covetous trophy in the North African nation.

Eleven days to the start to the competition, Paul Put and his charges have arrived in Morocco for final preparations for the tournament.

The contingent, which included 17 players, coaching staff and officials travelled from Entebbe on Sunday night and landed in Morocco on Monday morning, with more players expected later in the week.

Uganda are the first AFCON team to arrive in the host nation as they prepare for Nigeria, Tunisia and Tanzania in Group C.

The training camp in the host country is help shape the squad, with two friendlies in line. Uganda will begin their AFCON campaign on December 23 against Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles at the Complexe Sportif de Fès.
