Sacha Boey to miss Bayern Munich’s clash against Sporting Lisbon due to illness
France defender of Cameroonian descent, Sacha Boey, is set to miss Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League showdown with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night due to illness.
Bayern return to European competition on December 9, hosting Sporting Lisbon in their sixth group-stage match at the Allianz Arena, with kickoff set for 6:45 pm.
Preparations for the encounter continued at Säbener Straße, where the team held its final training session without three key players. Sources have revealed that Boey missed training because of illness, while Luis Diaz was unavailable due to suspension, and Jamal Musiala trained individually.
The absence of Boey comes at a crucial moment for Bayern, who currently sit third in the Champions League table with 12 points. Sporting Lisbon, meanwhile, trails with 10 points in eighth place as the group stage reaches its decisive phase.
Even without Sacha Boey, Bayern Munich have a lot of quality and will be eager to secure all three points from the Sporting game.
