Olympique Lyon have reportedly opened talks to secure the services of France international of DR Congo descent, Alex Disasi in the winter transfer window.

Disasi plans to depart Chelsea in the upcoming window amid recent struggles. The 27-year-old defender was initially axed from the Blues first team squad after failing to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

However, the French Ligue 1 giants has already opened talks to capture the defender in the January window. The deal is reportedly close as Lyon are determined to strengthen their defense, needing to compensate for the departures of Moussa Niakhaté and Clinton Mata to the AFCON.

This season, the defender hasn’t featured in a single match for the Blues, despite being under contract until 2029.

The Frenchman joined the London club in August 2023 from French Ligue 1 giants Monaco after top display at the club. Since joining Chelsea, the defender has racked up 61 appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
