Faouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to delivering a successful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, stressing that the tournament will stand as a triumph for the entire continent rather than a win for Morocco alone.
Lekjaa addressed the media in Salé on Wednesday and highlighted Morocco’s determination to stage an edition that reflects Africa’s unity, ambition, and growing influence in global football.
He emphasised that Morocco’s role goes beyond hosting duties, as the nation aims to set a benchmark that all African countries can celebrate.
He stated clearly that Morocco wants the competition to elevate African football and strengthen confidence in the continent’s ability to organise major sporting events at the highest standard.
He explained that the country views the upcoming AFCON as an opportunity to promote regional cooperation, inspire development, and reinforce Africa’s image internationally.
