2025 AFCON: Patrice Beaumelle announces Angola squad for tournament
Angola have confirmed their 28-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, as the Palancas Negras gear up for a demanding Group B campaign alongside Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Head coach Patrice Beaumelle has blended experience and emerging talent, with established names such as Neblú and Hugo Marques in goal, while defenders like Clinton Mata, David Carmo and Buatu offer solidity at the back.
In midfield, Show, Fredy and Maestro will be tasked with dictating the tempo, providing balance between defensive cover and creative supply. Further forward, the likes of Gelson Dala, Zito Luvumbo, Ary Papel, Milson and Chico Banza headline an exciting attacking unit capable of troubling any defence on the continent.
The federation has indicated that detailed preparations, including camp dates and friendly fixtures, will be announced in the coming days as Angola target a deep run in Morocco. Supporters have already flooded social media with reactions, mixing optimism with debate over omitted players, underlining the huge expectations on this group.
