Olympic Club Safi coach Aboub Zakaria hails hard-fought win over Djoliba in CAF Confederation Cup

Olympic Club Safi coach Aboub Zakaria has hailed his outfits’ hard-fought victory over Djoliba AC in the CAF Confederation Cup at the weekend.

The Moroccan outfit narrowly triumphed over the Malian side on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in highly competitive clash, held at the Stade du 26-Mars in Bamako

Speaking after the match, the Moroccan tactician stressed it was a tough game against Djoliba, but a precious win for the side.

“It was a very difficult match, but we managed to take the three points, that was the most important thing,” he said.

Aware of Djoliba’s strength, he praised his players’ discipline, noting their ability to capitalize on counter-attacks and then defend deeper in the second half to maintain their lead.

Olympic Club Safi are currently second in Group A of the Confederation Cup with three points after just one game.

The Moroccan outfit will play host to Algeria powerhouse USM Alger in matchday two of the group stages.
