Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu hails Trabzonspor’s team spirit after comeback win over Istanbul Basaksehir

Nigeria international Paul Onuachu has hailed Trabzonspor’s magnificent team spirit following a hard-fought win over Istanbul Basaksehir.

The former KRC Genk attacker played a pivotal by registering his name on the scoresheet as Trabzonspor cruised to a 4-3 victory in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday.

Speaking after the match, Onuachu stressed that securing all three points was the most important outcome for the team, regardless of how the game unfolded.

“Basaksehir FK were one man down; as a striker there’s not much to do. You just have to find spaces to get a goal for your team. My playing style didn’t really come into the game, but I scored a crucial penalty at that moment”

“It’s always good to win. We are happy with the three points but there’s more work to do. I am just happy for the three points. They played well even though they were a man down. At the end of the day, we fought back and got the three points.”

Onuachu’s calmness from the spot and overall contribution proved vital as Trabzonspor battled from behind to claim all three points in a seven-goal thriller.
