Tunisia LP1: Club Africain draw level at the summit as CS Sfaxien triumph in the Sousse derby

Club Africain closed the first half of the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 season with a hard-earned 1–0 victory away to Olympique de Béja, a result that lifts them alongside Espérance Sportive de Tunis at the top of the standings.

The decisive moment arrived just before the interval when Sadok Mahmoud unleashed a forceful strike that left the Béja goalkeeper with no chance.

The goal proved enough to secure three vital points for the visitors, who maintained composure throughout a tense encounter.

With Espérance still due to play their rescheduled fixture against US Ben Guerdane, Club Africain’s win put additional pressure on their rivals in the title race.

CSS take derby honours in Sousse

In Sousse, Club Sportif Sfaxien extended their excellent form by claiming a valuable derby victory over Étoile Sportive du Sahel.

The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Hichem Baccar confidently converted a penalty, giving the Black and Whites early control of the match.

Étoile’s hopes of mounting a comeback faded further after Houssem Dagdoud was shown a late red card.

Reduced to ten men, the home side struggled to create meaningful chances, allowing Sfaxien to manage the final stages with maturity.

The win marked CSS’s third consecutive success, lifting them to fourth place and bringing them level on points with Union Sportive Monastirienne.

Monastir maintain momentum with composed win

US Monastir continued their solid run with an important away victory in Soliman.

Moez Haj Ali opened the scoring just before halftime, providing the visitors with a deserved lead.

After the break, Mahdi Ganouni doubled the advantage, capping off a slick attacking move.

Although Dhiaddine Jebli reduced the deficit for Soliman, Monastir held firm through the remaining minutes and secured a result that keeps them firmly in the chase behind the leading pack.

Stade Tunisien deliver the day’s standout display

The most commanding performance of the matchday came from Stade Tunisien, who dismantled AS Gabès 4–0 at the Hedi Ennaïfer Complex.

Following a quiet first half, the home side erupted after the restart.

Amado Ndiaye broke the deadlock before Iyadh Riahi, Youssef Sâafi and Amir Jaouadi each added their names to the scoresheet, completing a resounding second-half display.

The victory allows Stade Tunisien to maintain their grip on third place, sitting just one point behind the league’s joint leaders as the competition approaches its decisive stages.
