Zamalek is preparing for a crucial Confederation Cup group-stage game against Zesco United, but the team’s plans have been affected by the possible absence of midfielder Chico Banza.

A club sourcetold Kooora that Banza’s latest absence from team training was planned in advance, as he coordinated with the management about his return from international duty. The club stressed that there is no disciplinary action against him and that his late arrival had been expected.

The coaching team is closely monitoring Banza’s return to Cairo and coordinating for him to join the regular sessions as soon as possible. At present, it appears unlikely that Banza will participate in the upcoming match against Zesco, scheduled for Sunday night at Cairo Stadium.

Elsewhere, midfielder Ahmed Rabie continues his rehabilitation following a muscle injury, working individually as he aims to make a full return to the squad. Zamalek also received official approval for 46,200 fans to attend the game, boosting the team’s morale ahead of this important fixture.

Amid these squad updates, Zamalek’s management announced further changes within the coaching staff, aiming to revamp the support team and improve results in the campaign’s next stage. The club remains focused on achieving a strong start to the group phase and maintaining high team spirit.
