Toulouse FC offers support following Abu Francis’s leg break during Ghana’s loss to Japan
Abu Francis suffered a heartbreaking leg break injury during Ghana’s 2-0 friendly loss to Japan today, casting a dark cloud over what was supposed to be a challenging test for the Black Stars.
Early in the second half, Abu went down after a severe ankle twist that left his teammates visibly shaken as medical teams rushed to his aid.
“The images are terrible and we’re sending all our thoughts and strength to you, Francis! The whole Club will be by your side to overcome this challenge,” Toulouse declared, vowing to support Abu through his recovery.
The midfielder was stretchered off the field, with initial signs suggesting a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Amid the on-field tension, Japan’s Ao Tanaka exemplified remarkable sportsmanship, personally apologizing to Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo after Abu’s substitution. Toulouse added, “We will be by your side to help you recover as quickly as possible, Black Stars.”
Both Toulouse FC and the football community are rallying behind Abu Francis, wishing him strength and a swift recovery.
