Morocco continue their Africa Cup of Nations build-up with a friendly against Mozambique on Thursday at the Grand Stade de Tanger, kicking off at 8:00 PM local time (GMT+1).

The match will be shown live on Arryadia in Morocco and on beIN Sports in France.

The Atlas Lions aim to mark the reopening of Tangier’s newly renovated stadium with another strong performance, mirroring their success at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium earlier this year.

With just over five weeks until the Africa Cup of Nations begins on home soil, coach Walid Regragui’s side seek to maintain momentum after their record-breaking 16th straight victory — a 1-0 win over Congo on October 14.

Morocco hold a dominant record over Mozambique, having won four of their previous five encounters. The only defeat dates back to September 2012, while their last meeting, in May 2014, ended in a convincing 4-0 triumph for the North Africans.

In squad news, the absence of Achraf Hakimi through injury opens the door for Noussair Mazraoui of Manchester United to start at right-back.

On the opposite flank, PSV Eindhoven’s Anass Salah-Eddine may earn his first start, though Raja Casablanca’s Youssef Belammari also remains an option.

Captain Romain Saïss, back in the squad after more than a year out, is expected to feature in central defence.

Nayef Aguerd’s ongoing groin issue leaves room for 19-year-old Rennes defender Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal to make his senior debut.

With confidence high and competition for places intensifying, Morocco will look to extend their impressive run and fine-tune their tactics ahead of AFCON 2025.
