The AFCON village, situated at Place Jean-Paul II in Yamoussoukro, became the epicenter of passionate backing for the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire. Men, women, and children alike converged to rally behind Franck Kessié and the national team, and their ardent support was met with a commendable victory.
As the ecstatic crowd spilled out of the AFCON village, the city reverberated with songs and dances, creating an impromptu celebration. Processions of bikers paraded through the streets, contributing to the vibrant spectacle of Ivorian pride.
Africa Foot United, present amidst the fervor, provided a platform for some supporters to articulate their sentiments. Sonia, an enthusiastic fan, expressed her elation, stating,
“This is a good first for Ivory Coast. For the organizing country, respect had to be imposed. The joy is immense. Ivory Coast will go to the final, and the Cup stays here.”
Zao Roger Frédéric shared the sentiment of triumph, exclaiming, “We won, there is nothing left. Nigeria will come, and we will beat them too. We are happy.

While the majority reveled in the victory, some supporters, like Alexis, offered constructive criticism, believing the team could have performed better.
“Victory, yes, but the team was not convincing. She underestimated Guinea-Bissau, who played very good football. The Elephants could score more goals. Let’s hope they do better in the next matches,” expressed Alexis.
