Al Ahly’s youth football team born in 2005 secured a resounding victory away from home against Arab Contractors, with a scoreline of 5-1.
The match, which took place on Saturday at the Arab Contractors’ Green Mountain Stadium, was a rescheduled fixture from the 12th round of the Republic Championship.
Despite conceding an early goal, Al Ahly showcased an exceptional performance, scoring five goals and missing a penalty along with several other opportunities.
This commanding win allowed them to claim three crucial points before heading into the final stages of the competition to determine the league champion.
The players of Al Ahly demonstrated remarkable teamwork, with Ahmed Aabdeen leading the defensive line alongside teammates Youssef Abdelhafiz, Abdullah Bastangi, and Mahmoud Labib.
Goalkeeper Hazem Gamal, supported by the midfield trio of Youssef Gamal, Ahmed Wahid, and Ibrahim Adel, contributed significantly to thwarting the opponent’s attacks.
The attacking trio of Mohamed Abdullah, Hossam Mostafa, and Mohamed Ahmed Saad, also known as “Shiba,” exerted substantial pressure on Arab Contractors’ defense throughout the match.
The game began cautiously, with both teams carefully navigating the field. However, Al Ahly took the initiative in search of an opening goal.
In the 9th minute, Ibrahim Adel’s powerful header from Mahmoud Labib’s left-wing cross narrowly missed the target.
Arab Contractors took the lead in the 15th minute with a well-executed solo effort, catching Al Ahly’s defenders off guard.
However, Al Ahly swiftly responded just two minutes later, with “Shiba” converting a ground shot from Mohamed Abdullah’s right-wing cross.
The first half concluded with a spectacular goal from Hossam Mostafa in the third minute of injury time, giving Al Ahly a 2-1 lead.
Buoyed by their advantage, Al Ahly started the second half with high spirits, putting significant pressure on Arab Contractors’ defense.
In the 55th minute, Ibrahim Adel secured his second goal of the match, heading in a precise cross from “Shiba,” extending Al Ahly’s lead to 3-1.
Hossam Mostafa and Ibrahim Adel combined again in the 69th minute, with Adel scoring his second and Al Ahly’s fourth goal with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.
Despite a missed penalty by Fares Khalid in the 83rd minute, Al Ahly’s dominance continued.
In the 87th minute, Amr Khalid delivered a corner kick to “Shiba,” who passed the ball to Ali Adib in front of the goal.
Adib’s superb first-touch shot secured Al Ahly’s fifth goal, concluding the match with a convincing 5-1 victory.
With this triumph, “Al Ahly 2005” raised their points tally to 41, having scored 45 goals while conceding only 17 throughout the competition.
The team’s remarkable performance positions them as strong contenders for the Republic Championship title.
