Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has confirmed the contract extension of rising midfielder Samir El Mourabet, who has committed his future to the club until June 2030.

Born in Strasbourg in 2005, El Mourabet joined the Racing Mutest Academy at the age of 10 and has steadily climbed through every level of the club’s youth system.

His progression has been closely followed by supporters, who have seen him evolve from a promising academy talent into one of the first team’s most reliable young performers.

Now 20, the Moroccan U20 international has become a key figure in Patrick Vieira’s squad, displaying maturity beyond his years and earning praise for his consistency and tactical intelligence.

A rising star in the making
El Mourabet’s influence on Strasbourg’s season has been unmistakable.

He has featured in all 12 Ligue 1 fixtures so far and made 14 appearances across all competitions — more than any other player in the squad.

His endurance, composure on the ball, and ability to dictate play from midfield have made him indispensable to the team’s structure.

Initially under contract until 2027, the new deal extends his stay by three additional years, a clear signal of Strasbourg’s commitment to building around their homegrown talent.

A local gem with international promise
El Mourabet’s story is one that resonates deeply with Strasbourg supporters.

Having been born and raised in the city, his development mirrors the club’s emphasis on nurturing local talent and blending it with international ambition.

His dual heritage has also seen him become a key part of Morocco’s U20 setup, further enhancing his reputation on the continental stage.

RCSA’s sporting management expressed satisfaction with the agreement, describing El Mourabet as a player with “the work ethic, technical quality, and mentality to embody the club’s long-term vision.”

For El Mourabet, the extension represents both loyalty and ambition — a statement that he intends to grow alongside the team that shaped him.

His renewed deal ensures Strasbourg will continue to benefit from one of France’s most promising young midfielders for years to come, as he cements his place at the heart of the club’s future.
