Liverpool icon, German Pienaar, spoke today about the Reds’ stance on selling their stars during the upcoming summer transfer window.

In remarks highlighted by the “Liverpool Echo,” Pienaar addressed the criticism facing Darwin Nunez, stating, “Criticism of Darwen Nunez? His situation is tough because he’s had 18 months until now.

I believe the first year can be dedicated to adapting to the league and overcoming the language barrier, but now he’s been here for 18 months.”

He added, “I think he’s a fantastic player, always involved, often causing chaos, but he needs to improve his scoring ability.

When you’re in a team like Liverpool, you have to capitalize on opportunities, or it can become costly.”

Continuing, Pienaar emphasized the significance of converting chances, saying, “If you get 3 or 4 chances and score only one goal or miss two big chances in a row, it can be costly, especially when these chances fall to Salah; he will put them in the net.”

Regarding the possibility of Nunez and Salah receiving tempting offers to leave Liverpool, Pienaar stated, “We love Darwin, but we have to think about the club.”

He continued, “If the money is crazy, I think it could tempt the club.

If you have to lose either Salah or Nunez, I would prefer to lose the latter, to preserve Mo.”

Concluding, Pienaar expressed his reluctance to see Nunez depart, stating, “But I don’t want to see Nunez leave.

For the £85 million that Liverpool paid for him, I believe he needs to become a better goal-scorer.”
