Chelsea ready to offload Axel Disasi amid Dortmund interest
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to let go of French defender of Congolese descent, Axel Disasi, amid Borussia Dortmund’s interest.
The German club has recently seen some defensive stability return, with Nico Schlotterbeck and Emre Can back in action.
However, long-term uncertainty persists, as Niklas Süle remains injured while both Süle and Can’s contracts are nearing expiration. Dortmund’s ability to retain Schlotterbeck beyond 2027 also remains in question.
Against this backdrop, Disasi has re-emerged as a potential target. The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and even featured for Chelsea’s reserve side over the weekend.
According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea are planning to sanction his transfer in the upcoming winter window. Disasi previously worked under BVB coach Niko Kovač during their time together at AS Monaco, which could play a role in any potential move.
Following a loan stint at Aston Villa last season, Disasi could now be on his way out permanently, with Chelsea open to a deal but still demanding a transfer fee.
While Dortmund have yet to make an official move, the Bundesliga side are said to be keeping a close eye on the central defender market.
