Agent confirms striker Wandile Duba failed move to Saudi Arabia
Mike Makaab, the agent of Kaizer Chiefs forward Wandile Duba has confirmed his client failed move to Saudi Arabia.
The 21-year-old enterprising attacker was a subject of interest for a lucrative Saudi Arabia in the summer, but the move ultimately fell through.
“Yes, there was interest in Wandile Duba from Saudi Arabia, but the move didn’t materialise as the player is still with Kaizer Chiefs,” Makaab told FARPost.
Duba’s career has been on the rise for Kaizer Chiefs from last season, playing an instrumental role for the club’s success in the Cup competition.
The fast-rising attacker played a pivotal role as the Amakhosi triumphed over Orlando Pirates to end their 10-year trophy drought.
Saudi teams have seen the PSL as a fertile ground for players as Mohau Nkota move to the Middle East in the off-season to Al-Ettifaq from Orlando Pirates. This means a move for Duba to the Middle East cannot be completely ruled out as yet.
The 21-year-old forward has made seven appearances in the South African Premier League this season, registering an assist across the period.
