Habib Beye under intense scrutiny as Stade Rennais struggle to find form

Senegalese tactician Habib Beye will remain in charge of Stade Rennais for their upcoming Ligue 1 match against Toulouse, despite widespread reports suggesting he had been sacked.

Earlier on Monday, French outlet Foot Mercato claimed that Rennes had decided to part ways with Beye following the club’s 2-0 defeat to OGC Nice, stating that the decision had already been finalised.

However, these claims have since been contradicted by L’Équipe, which reports that Beye is still at the helm and will take charge of Wednesday night’s crucial fixture.

Rennes have endured a difficult start to the season, currently sitting 10th on the league table and without a win since September 14. The club’s six-week winless run has placed Beye under intense scrutiny, and according to L’Équipe, his position remains under serious threat.

The French publication adds that Wednesday’s match will be decisive for Beye’s future. He is believed to be “hanging by a thread,” and must secure a positive result against Toulouse if he is to continue as Rennes manager beyond this week.

All eyes will be on the Roazhon Park as Beye fights to save his job and revive Rennes’ season.
