CAF Confederation Cup: AS Simba coach Daoula Lupembe anticipates tough test against Kaizer Chiefs

Head coach of AS Simba, Daoula Lupembe, is anticipating a very tough test against South African outfit, Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Confederation Cup playoff.

The DR Congo outfit played out a pulsating goalless draw against the Soweto giants in the first leg tie of the second round of the preliminary round, with the return fixture set for this weekend in South Africa.

However, Daoula Lupembe insists his outfit inability to secure victory on home turf in the first leg makes it a tough clash heading into the return clash on Saturday.

“Before going to the rematch that we need to win, it is like what we said here that we needed to win at our place, but we didn’t win,” Lupembe said to Pan-Africa Football.

“We have to go and confirm it somewhere. It is going to take us to be 100 per cent physically, well technically and tactically, especially mentally well, because the difference is on the mental level.

The Democratic Republic of Congo side need to bring their mental fortitude to overcome Amakhosi at home, Lupembe noted.

“The right mentality, we will have a very difficult game to play. It will be a match of an African level. Top level.”
