Luis Henrique backs Morocco’s Atlas Lions to win the World Cup after U20 success
Spanish coach Luis Henrique is backing the Atlas Lions of Morocco to win the FIFA World Cup very soon.
The Paris Saint-Germain manager, in a recent interview, commended the Morocco U20 side for winning the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup tournament in Chile.
According to him, the success of the Atlas Cubs is great news for world football and a clear indication that Morocco can win the senior World Cup tournament in the coming years.
“I think it’s very nice for world football that there are countries that have always shown quality, because in the African Cup, they are always one of the favorites, but now they are clearly contenders to win upcoming Senior World Cups,” Enrique said.
Morocco won the FIFA U20 World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Argentina in the final held on October 19 in Santiago, Chile.
Young sensation Yassir Zabiri was the standout performer, scoring both goals in the 12th and 29th minutes, leading Morocco to the historic U-20 World Cup title.
The triumph of the Atlas Cubs follows the Atlas Lions’ semi-final achievement at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
