Victory lifts Ismaily SC as National Bank of Egypt dominate away
Ismaily SC breathed new life into their campaign with a much-needed victory over Haras El Hodood, winning 3-1 at Ismailia Stadium in the Egyptian Premier League’s eleventh round.
The win marked their first in nearly two months, easing pressure on coach Miloud Hamdi and lifting team spirits amidst off-field turmoil. Haras El Hodood struck first through Ibrahim Abdel Hakim, but Ismaily equalized before halftime thanks to Abdallah Mohamed, then went ahead with an own goal by Omar Fathi and sealed it through Anwar Abdelsalam deep in stoppage time. The club’s board recently formed a rescue committee to tackle debts and called on fans to help save the team.
Meanwhile, National Bank of Egypt continued their strong run, upsetting El Gouna with a 3-0 away win as Ahmed Yasser Rayan netted twice and set up another for Osama Faisal.
Coach Ayman El Ramady credited tactical tweaks, while his former colleague Ahmed Mostafa Bibo tried in vain to revive El Gouna. With league reforms introducing a two-phase system for the expanded 2025/26 season, both clubs are aiming to secure safety early and build momentum for the challenges ahead
