Hugo Broos happy with return of Khuliso Mudau and Sphephelo Sithole for final World Cup qualifiers
The head coach of Bafana Bafana, Hugo Broos, has expressed his delight about the return of Khuliso Mudau and Sphephelo Sithole to his squad for the final round of games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking about the two players, the experienced tactician emphasised that they are crucial to his team.
“If you talk about players who are back, I think you think of Khuliso and Sithole. Those players have always been very important for the team. It was a pity that we couldn’t select Sithole for a year because of his injury.
“It was a pity also that we couldn’t select Khuliso in September because there was a problem with his club,” Broos said.
He added, “So, those players are back, and I think it’s very important for the team. So, every game is different, we can’t say we beat Zimbabwe 3-1 last year. On Friday, it will be a total different game as well.
“I think we will play a very motivated tram and will try to get us some points. We will have a strong team on the field, so I’m very happy with guys who are back.”
The Bafana Bafana are set to play against Zimbabwe and Rwanda in the final round of games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Winning those two matches is key to qualifying for next year’s World Cup.
